Many agency workers have been caught with IR35 and can no longer work through a PSC (personal service company), especially in the public sector. The best alternative is to work through an Umbrella Company like Kudos. It allows you to keep the same assignment rate as a PSC and therefore increase your take home pay.
Once you have been placed in an assignment by your agency, they will ask you to nominate an Umbrella Company. At this point you will let us know which agency you would like to work with, we then contact them to let them know that you are registered with us, by sending across our compliance pack and confirmation of your registration. Once you have completed your assignment for the week, you send across your timesheet to us and the agency, the agency then send us confirmation of your hours and assignment rate one week in arrears. The assignment rate is then subject to employer NI, our weekly charge (plus pension where applicable), and balance will be your pay rate. This is then subject to PAYE tax and NI (plus pension where applicable). You are then left with your net pay, which is paid directly into your personal bank account.
